This position is based out of our Houston, Texas location. We are looking to pay $19 - $23 per hour based on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of mechanical and electrical assembly operations to assemble intricate or large and expensive equipment, subassemblies involving a considerable number of parts, or units involving less precise requirements and parts. Has demonstrated proficiency in assembling the identified products on the Department Training Matrix per established Work Instructions, quality standards, or equivalent and continues to learn more as identified.
- Does fitting, aligning and adjustments to insure proper flow, layout and free action of movable parts and operating requirements. Products are standardized and/or methods prescribed. Capable of basic wiring and tubing.
- Uses a wide variety of assembly and test fixtures, and hand and power tools; recognizes defective parts; does unit testing as directed. Works from complicated assembly drawings and EWDs with guidance on major products, specifications, layouts, and standard operating procedures or methods. Work subject to inprocess and final inspection, check and test.
- Performs cutting, layout, brazing, tube bending and threading.
- May be assigned to provide guidance and check work of Assemblers of lower classification and Production Assistants.
- Observes all company safety rules. During production hours, uses assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Involves heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds. Operates cranes or forklifts (as certified) to move larger/heavier items.
- Does other work as supervisor may require.
JOB Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum one year of assembly experience with Sentry or similar products.
Skills, Knowledge & Other Requirements:

- Aptitude and/or interest in mechanical skills, and ability to learn technical aspects of Sentry products.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and product operation.
- Cooperative attitude; ability to function effectively as a team member.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and ERP program.
- Detail oriented; attention to detail; accuracy.
- Ability to bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good spacial orientation, eyehand coordination and eyesight.
- Normal color vision, demonstrated by identifying various wire colors.
- Ability to read blueprints, use various measuring devices, and follow Work Instructions.
- Skill with mechanical and electrical assembly techniques.
- Ability to operate overhead crane and/or forklift.
- Proficiency in assembling targeted products on the Department Training Matrix per Work Instructions.
- Skill with safe operation of hand and power tools.
