The Shared Service Center's Physician Services Team is responsible for communicating its revenue cycle activities and performance to individual practice departments within the Boston Children's Hospital Physician's Org. Our team focuses on partnering with the each department to understand their goals, challenges, and key practice drivers. Activities include establishing and maintaining Foundation relationships that focus on KPI's, managing effective ongoing communication regarding RCM workflow issues, and identifying areas for financial performance improvement.

This Share Service Center (SSC) Physician Billing Services Manager will be responsible to:

  • Oversee the production of monthly analytics used to report billing performance to foundation directors and medical chiefs. Analyze trends, identify causes of revenue declines and maintain statistics for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. Keep abreast of changes in payer billing requirements that could potentially impact various foundation specialties.
  • Present performance report data and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) to dept. leadership in reports and meetings. Manage the research of and development of options, recommendations and presentation to leadership.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to manage assigned billing support services. Evaluate workflow and allocates resources to provide the highest levels of performance and efficiency
  • Analyze process and business issues to identify best practice solutions. Recommend and implement improvements. Share knowledge and lead teams in process redesign/change management.
  • Interact and collaborate regularly with service-line billing managers and directors, Patient Financial Services, and the Physicians' Organization. Attends meetings, including the departmental admin, finance, billing, and compliance meetings.

To qualify, you must have:

  • An Associate's degree is required and a Bachelor's degree is preferred in Human Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Accounting
  • Ten (10) years of experience in progressively responsible medical billing/revenue cycle operation or physician office experience, including five (5) years of prior direct report supervisory/management oversight.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to allow for effective communication with foundation directors and Chiefs.
  • Analytical skills necessary to plan for design or enhance billing systems and programs.
  • State-of-the-art awareness of billing requirements and technology related to physician billing to resolve problems
  • Ability to effectively manage within the assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with directors and senior leadership on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department
  • Strong planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with effective results and time management
  • Remote/hybrid
