Position Overview

As the Sr Director of Data Orchestration, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our AI data orchestration services. This key leadership position is charged with designing, building, and developing sophisticated data pipelines that seamlessly integrate with model training, machine learning, inference engines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), data chunking, MLOps, and DataOps. Your work will be crucial in devising the best AI management strategies for an AI-driven world, focusing on on-premises, edge, and cloud infrastructures.

This is a remote or hybrid opportunity preferably based near our corporate offices in Merrimack, NH, or Boston or New York metropolitan areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development and implementation of advanced data orchestration frameworks that support AI model training and machine learning at scale.
  • Spearheads the integration of data orchestration with MLOps and DataOps practices to enhance AI management strategies.
  • Drives thought leadership in data orchestration, contributing to the company's innovation through publishing articles, engaging in speaking engagements, and participating in relevant forums.
  • Supports and evolves the company's Labs environments, facilitating cutting-edge research and development.
  • Leads, mentors, and trains a team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Collaborates closely with the head of the group or VP of Helix Engineering to align data orchestration strategies with overall business goals.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge.

 

Regular travel is required with a routine frequency of 30%-50%

 

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive experience in building and leading data orchestration, MLOps, and DataOps initiatives, particularly in an AI context.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing data models and pipelines for on-premises, edge, and cloud infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning, model training, inference engines, and related technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to drive thought leadership in the AI and data orchestration space.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • A track record of publishing articles, leading training sessions, and contributing to the AI community.
  • Leadership skills with ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Strong trend analysis skills with proven ability to develop short- and long-term business plans.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present professional demonstrations.
  • Intuitive with ability to perceive others' feelings and motives quickly from subtle signals.
  • Decisive with ability to make a prompt determination and substantiate decision if challenged. 
  • Strategic thinker in future-oriented terms who anticipates and considers external and internal elements with ability to develop long-term plans to leverage resources.
