Position Summary:

Responsible for development and continuous improvement of products to prevent future problems. Engage in fulfilling customer requirements regarding testing, reducing costs of testing, and improving component quality. Responsible for developing computer programs relating to the design and testing of electronic components, products, and systems.

Position Requirements:

  1. Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, mechanical, EMC and electrical testing of electrical components, products, and systems by requesting quotes, scheduling tests, creating test procedures, and analyzing test data.
  2. Assist with coordination and development of the mechanical, electrical and software test requirements of the electronic components, products, and systems.
  3. Develop EMC and electrical test plans and support these tests at off-site facilities.
  4. Write validation test reports and provide other written and oral reports necessary to support the projects.
  5. Support the engineering team at customer and supplier meetings.
  6. Assist with the maintenance and scheduling of test chambers and equipment.
  7. Write and maintain programming code for automated test systems, including environmental testing, EMC testing, automated calibration, and data analysis programs.
  8. Possess proficiency in test equipment and various communication hardware and software, such as GPIB, Serial Busses, Parallel Busses, and LANs as well as CAN and SENT communication protocols.
  9. Maintain and test cable assemblies and fixtures used for testing.
  10. Prepare specifications and costs for purchase of new test equipment.
  11. Prepare costs for validation tests.
  12. Set up and troubleshoot new test equipment and processes to ensure efficient operation.
  13. Maintain compliance to current customer specific requirements as applicable.
  14. Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
  15. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of SSI Technologies, LLC. which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  16. All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Professional/Technical Experience, Skills and Education:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferred. Electrical Engineering preferred.
  2. 0-2 years related work experience to be considered, preferred.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, required.
  4. Supports engineering department during customer meetings, preferred.
  5. Basic project management knowledge, preferred.
  6. Experience with LabView, preferred.
